Thoroughly examine your bathroom space and the rooms next to the toilet. Take accurate measurements of the toilet and adjoining rooms. Transpose those measurements to level on the graph newspaper. Look for any closets posting a common wall structure with your bathrooms. Make sure to include the measurements of these closets. Check your drawing to ascertain if you can remove a wardrobe and add that space to your bathrooms. Does it square‐off your bathrooms? Will you miss the closet space? Inside the pre‐remodel photography here, the wallpapered wall structure on the right part of the entranceway was a wardrobe for an adjoining bedroom.
For the Old World feel of any Tuscan bathroom, use warm, earthy colors on wall space. Terra‐cotta, platinum, burnt orange, ocher and mustard give a wealthy backdrop for rustic aged‐wood cabinetry, copper or oil‐rubbed bronze faucets and sinks, and wrought‐iron hardware. Faux consistency applied with a color clean contributes aspect and depth, resembling the appearance of aged plaster. For golden yellow walls, use Lion Yellow for the base Golden and jacket Mist for the top jacket ‐‐ both by Benjamin Moore. Include accents in olive or sage green, cobalt blue, poppy red and deep purple or plum.
